With the holiday season rapidly approaching, different groups are beginning to celebrate in different ways. The dance studio HADC is putting on a performance of the Nutcracker here in LSHS on Friday, December 6th, Saturday, December 7th, and Sunday, December 8th.

“We have been working on it since July. Every Sunday we would have on average about 4 to 5 hours of rehearsals,” dancer Sophie Penland said.

The performance will be a traditional rendition of the original Nutcracker show, featuring kids from around the city. The performance will be held in the PAC at 7:30 on the 6th, 10:30, 1:30, and 7:30 on the 7th, and at 1:30 and 5:30 on the 8th.

“As a little girl I always wanted to be the Sugar Plum Fairy and now I get the chance to be exactly that, and I get to be an inspiration for other little girls,” Penland said.

HADC is a very decorated dance studio, and the dancers there have been working very hard on getting this performance right, considering the amount of time they have put into rehearsal.

“This week we have dress rehearsal every day from 4 to 9 in full hair and makeup with costumes in the theater,” Penland said.

It is highly recommended that everyone should go see this performance. The online ticket sales have ended, but there will be limited tickets at the door.
