Hot Spots Over the Holidays

Wondering what to do over break? Here are some great spots to go during the holidays.

Hot Spots Over the Holidays

Eleanor Ammerman

A long-awaited semester break is just around the corner for Lee’s Summit High students. Snow on the ground, Christmas lights all around and family and friends surrounding each holiday, the incoming 18-day break is the much-needed break students need. Adventure is an important part of the break, though; so here are some great spots in Lee’s Summit to visit over the school-less holidays.

Christmas in the Park:

At 3901 SW Longview Park Drive, Christmas in the Park is a wonderful

display of lights and designs to drive through and celebrate the radiant

spirit of the holiday season. It’s open until the 31st and is free to drive through,

though donations are taken at the end of the display.

The Magic Tree:

The Magic Tree is decorated in Christmas lights,

illuminating the whole area with bright colors.

Magic Tree accepts donations of unopened toys to

donate to children of both deployed and

non-deployed soldiers.

Summit Ice:

Summit Ice is an ice skating at 120

NE Chipman Road. A reduced price

of $7 for Lee’s Summit residents

brings in plenty of skaters,

amateurs and regulars alike,

to enjoy skating on the ice with

friends and family.

Selfies with Santa:

On December 14th (3-5 pm) and

21st (2-4 pm), The Lee’s Summit

History Museum will be offering

“Selfies with Santa”,where Santa

will be waiting to take some

selfies with his fans.
