Conspiracy Column: Tupac or Makaveli

Some believe this famous rapper is still alive

There have been a lot of famous people through the decades, but did they all want the attention they had received? Most would think just to stop making music or leave the music industry, but for some, it’s not that simple. So, how far would they go to find their way out of the spotlight?

Tupac Shakur was an American rapper who was supposedly shot on September 13th, 1996. But, what if Tupac wasn’t actually dead? He might have faked his death to get out of the spotlight, but why would he want to do this? Well, his story wasn’t always the prettiest. His mom, Afeni, was involved in a gang when he was born. When he grew up, he was charged with sexual and physical assault, therefore, he spent 4 ½ years in prison. After he got out, he continued his music career but got put in the middle of a rivalry between the West and East side rappers. While visiting Las Vegas, Tupac was riding in the passenger seat when a white Cadillac came up, rolled down the window, and shot him.

Tupac Shakur was in the ICU for 6 days before his mother decided to turn off his life support. His cremation was scheduled the next day, but people saw his coroner’s report that included a lot of overestimations on his height and weight. These discrepancies led people to believe that the cremators stole his body. A couple of days later, some of his friends planned Tupac a memorial in Las Vegas, but at the last second, it was canceled. This raised a lot of red flags for people, making them believe that Tupac wasn’t actually dead.

There were a lot of signs that Tupac could have faked his death. Afeni blamed Biggie Smalls and Puffdaddy for knowing the attack would happen, but not doing anything to stop it. Ever since Tupac “died,” his producer has released 7 albums. In one of his songs he released before he died, he said that rappers that were labeled with Bad Boy would come for him, but he would get them first. Once people heard that, it proved more that he faked his death to get back at them. These signs were so prominent in his songs that Snoop Dogg even believed that he would plan a phony death. Suge Knight was interviewed by reporters about Tupac and said “Tupac was on an island somewhere smoking cigars.” Tupac has been reportedly seen by people and he was using his well-known alias, Makaveli.

There have been many sightings of Tupac using the name Makaveli. He was seen in the Chicago Airport going out of the country in 2006, but when the reporters talked to the staff at the airport, they said that was impossible because, at that time, they never went out of the country. So he could not have left, but this man could have very well have been lying. There is still quite a bit of controversy around Tupac, and though there are no clear answers, many aren’t afraid to speculate about what could have really happened to the famous rapper.
