Before the knee injury that Khalia Woods is facing right now she played sports. ‘

“I played basketball outside of school and with the school, practice is currently zero because I am injured. I am interested in sports medicine and part of the reason is because my mother is a doctor, but also the part of going through physical therapy showed that, for my knee.”

Maybe because of that her dream after high school became more clear.

“My dream college is probably Kansas University, and that is for me because my mother went there for KU med. And then I would try to play basketball in college. I don’t think so far ahead, so I don’t know what to do after college.”

Woods has not decided what senior year will look like for her either.

‘There is a sports lessons class that I would like to try, and there is another class that I would like to try and that is essentials of athletic training. Just to test the water and see if I like the sports medicine area, and if not then I can find another interest.”

Currently Woods is involved in the newspaper class.

I think I would mostly write about either playing sports or something sport medicine related. Also music, reviewing music or music therapy.

“I always liked writing, and in the newspaper I will be able to do that. And I also have to work on my communication skills. I like the challenge, even though I don’t really like interviewing. I am glad that I am tackling that so I can get better at that.” Woods said. “I like the freedom and trying new things, doing things I have never done before.”

Woods knows what she wants to write about in the following year.

“I think I would mostly write about either playing sports or something sport medicine related. Also music, reviewing music or music therapy.” Woods said.
