If you’re 17 ½ years old, and a U.S. Citizen, you can register to vote right now! You will be able to vote if you are 18 years old by the date of election. Registration is due Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
Why is it important to vote?
As a citizen of the United States, you have the right to vote if you are 18 years old. These rights are outlined in the 15th, 19th, 24th and 26th Amendments. All of these Amendments have given American citizens a voice in the government. Voting gives you the opportunity to change the course of America, and to keep the kind of democracy that you stand for. Register in Person or by Mail. To do this, you can mail or bring your application to The Kansas City Election Board Office. They are open Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. It is 20 minutes away from Lee’s Summit High School. Call them at 816-842-4820
