Tiger Opinions: “Indivisable” America and Congress

Today, America is in one of the most divided states it’s ever been in due to several issues throughout the right and left of the political spectrum popping up, with these issues being hard to not have a strong stance on it, sparking huge ongoing nationwide debates. Naturally in this divided state, members of opposing political parties are causing conflicts to flare up even more due to constant, seemingly unending disagreement.

Often, when debating or trying to meet in the middle, many members of Congress or other government officials will act stubborn or like children, not listening to others and fueling conflict without any remote idea of peace or progress in sight. For example, during a congressional questioning of Pam Bondi, many people on both sides of the arguments were extremely disrespectful and disgraceful, frequently interrupting each other or, on Pam Bondi’s part, attempting to divert questions (as you probably know by the “DOW is over 50,000” ordeal.)

Throughout the many political conflicts, the constant discourse in Congress is causing nothing to be achieved, and in recent times causing government shutdowns, both partial and complete. Even in spite of the 2025 government shutdowns Congress still hasn’t learned to work together, as a result creating two newer partial government shutdowns that started in January 2026, and a second starting in February, due to the constant disagreement in Congress.

And in the heated political climate we have today, all we need is for officials to be mediators or at least be respectful to one another at the bare minimum. There are almost zero instances of the government meeting in the middle on big issues today, and if many come together and resolve their differences, then we can see great progress in America and see its many issues being resolved or helped.
