“First Priority” is a christian based club that meets during advisory every Thursday.

“It’s basically just a club where you can go and talk to your friends and there’ll be someone that’ll give a message and you mainly just talk about things like the gospel and how you can translate that to your school life,” freshman Neyland Holbert said.

First Priority has a mini lesson on the bible that can be applied to students’ lives.

“It’s how to use the gospel in your everyday school lives, especially surrounding yourself with people who aren’t Christian,” sophomore Kylie Morris said.

Due to First Priority being a religious club, it can make it more challenging for the club to advertise itself.

“We’re not really allowed to put posters up around the school or make it an announcement during morning announcements and stuff. Our only reach is really through social media. And so that’s why a lot of the time in the posts we make, we try to encourage people to share as much as possible. Other than that, you have to tell others in person,” sophomore Keilah Wheeler said.

Some students first heard of First Priority through their own churches.

“First priority actually came to my church, and introduced themselves and I got through their leader program through that,” Morris said.

This club is a great outlet for students who deal with a lot of stress.

“Everyone should join first priority because it is just such a good break from school. Honestly, just a good reminder of Jesus’s love, God’s love, and even at school when you could be struggling with school work or home life is just a great way to get away from that,” sophomore Anna Snow said.

People looking to make more Christian friends can benefit from joining this club.

“This club has impacted me. It helps you grow those Christian friendships and it helps you connect people to Christ in ways that you don’t really see anymore. It’s also a good way to talk, it’s a free space where you can talk about God and not feel judged or anything like that,” Wheeler said.

First Priority can be a great resource to make friends and learn more about Jesus.
