Orchestra is not just a class; it’s a way to create connections with music and it gives a new view of the music. It makes you see the music in a different way than usual. Orchestra is also a good occasion to connect with people that have the same interest in music and want to be part of the creation.
“My favorite part is definitely the people. That’s why, even when it’s gotten stressful and I don’t really have that much time to practice, the people and the friends that I’ve made in the class are the reason that I stay and I’ve grown really close to all of them,” senior Emma Bergsten said.
Concerts are a big part of orchestra and a lot of times gives a lot of satisfaction.
“I feel like I’m best at doing that, especially because I’ve been doing it for a long time, and I just find comfort in it,” freshman Lanaya Bradford said.
Everyone has their own reason to be part of the orchestra, some for fun to try something new, and some to follow the path of parents.

“My mom used to play violin, so I kind of just followed her,” junior Adriana Hernandez said.
Playing in the orchestra means that you are never playing alone. With this comes advantages.
“I like the orchestra. I don’t really like playing solos, because when you’re able to play with multiple people, you can create a lot of harmonies and make it sound a lot prettier,” sophomore Kadence Boyd said.
Being part of the orchestra is a very nice place to be where people have fun and support each other.“My favorite thing is, you know you’re with your friends. We’re all united by love doing this hobby, and it’s just a very warm and funny environment. If someone makes a mistake, no one side eyes you, everyone just laughs it off. It’s just a very pleasing environment to be in,” Boyd said.
